Sponsor of this year’s Energy Manager of the Year Award Alan Aldridge, ESTA says: “This will be the third year that ESTA has sponsored the Energy Manager of the Year Award and each year the Event has grown in stature and with wider recognition. We were pleased to present this year’s Award to Peter Schroeder, the Environment Manager at McDonald’s UK - His work led to a reduction of 10% in electricity consumption in 2009 across their 1200 restaurants. We look forward to taking part in the Environment and Energy Awards 2011 to give support to all UK Energy Managers and for the promotional branding opportunity that it gives to ESTA.”

Donna Bushell, event director for Sustainabilitylive!, says: “The awards celebrate advancements in green technologies, excellence in energy management, and outstanding company performances and every year, the number and standard of entries rises. For us, it’s an indication of how sustainability has become widely engrained in business cultures.”

Winners will be announced on the evening of Tuesday 24th May, 2011, at a special black tie dinner held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

Closing date for entries is 14th January 2011, with the shortlist expected to be announced in March.
